Most other voice libraries and/or hosted services are married together, so by writing an app one is also marrying a single vendor. In addition to being an elegant way to write voice scripts, Adhearsion & AGI has a major advantage: apps are legitimately portable, so you can run them with your own Asterisk, a hosted Asterisk dedicated server, Cloudvox Asterisk hosting, or other systems/services supporting those protocols.

Most other voice libraries and/or hosted services are married together, so by writing an app one is also marrying a single vendor.
